Corfu Donkey Rescue (CDR), registered charity no 1178, was founded by Judy Quinn who, by chance, found a donkey wandering in scrubland on the Island. As one can imagine, securing ongoing funding is a relentless task. Just to sustain the service at an acceptable level, along with regular veterinary fees, dentist fees, general care and feed costs needs continuous work in order to for these costs  to be met.
Corfu Donkey Rescue - € 1000?
The rescue centre welcomes visitors but Judy asks that visitors telephone in advance to make sure that it is a convenient time at the centre.
There is currently a poll taking place until the 15th March, run by a Dutch horse feed company, offering €1000 to the cause with the most votes.
At present CDR is in the lead, but more votes are needed to secure this position. Complacency cannot
be allowed to set in simply because CDR currently has a good lead. That could change at any time unless as many people as possible vote and ask others to do the same.

“I wonder if you have heard about Corfu Recycling? Dimitris Tombros is a great supporter of the Corfu Donkey Rescue, and I think he does a brilliant job. He is giving us his JCB and other machines to help us build the shelter when it happens, sometime in March.

Like the CDR, Dimitris and his Recycling Business has struggled for years against the authorities to get licenses and it has cost a fortune, but he has done it.  So now there really is no need for any of us to dump, discard or throw anything at the roadside dustbins.  Just give him a call and he collects it all – cars, fridges, batteries, scrap metal.  The Corfu Recycling web site is in English so it would be great if you could spread the word.”

Many Thanks  - Judy Quinn
